The Band
What began as the soulful, piano-driven ballads of singer/songwriter, Jennifer Lucrezio, has now been transformed into an intense expression of robust passion, cultivated from the creativity that erupts when these humble creations are turned into the hands of a full band.
Beginning her journey onto the road as an independent musician, Jennifer first brought her aspirations as a musician onto the Chicago music scene in the fall of 2006. Though not knowing a soul in the city of Chicago, she somehow found herself connecting with a few individuals willing to take what she had created on her piano, and bring to it the intensity of the guitar, played by Jordan Bumgarner, the depth of the bass, played by Peter Cisneros, and the drive of the drums, played by Dave Fowler. Having only begun combining each one's talents in the summer of 2007, the band, simply known as Jennifer Lucrezio, has already found itself playing at Chicago venues such as The Elbo Room, Uncommon Ground, and The Original Mothers.
Though these original ballads have found themselves intensely expanded upon from what Jennifer's fans already know, the inspired lyrics remain, and are indeed encouraged by the new sound that drives each word .... "a sound to express who we are and words to relfect who we are becoming. For if when we play the heart of the individual is touched, if we can speak words that resound with familiarity, if we can make people feel alive and drive them to search for more than what they know, then the music has spoken and we have done what we were born to do.

“I write to express who I am and I sing to reflect who I am becoming, in hopes that others will be inspired to grow with me,” said band vocalist and keyboardist, Jennifer Lucrezio.
Though raised in a small, upstate New York town, this is one girl with anything but small aspirations. As a child, the answer to that frequently asked question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” was always the same: “I want to be a singer.”
As a twenty-three-year-old musician with nothing but hopes and aspirations, Jennifer is continuing to pursue this dream of creating and performing music that pours from the depths of her experiences. The reality and rawness of genuine words connect audiences with Lucrezio’s music, and she is thrilled at the chance to take these pieces of inspiration and let their depth overflow with the incredible skill and creativity that this new band of musicians brings.
Having refined her skills as a vocalist, pianist and songwriter at the Contemporary Music Center, an invitation-only artist colony on Martha’s Vineyard, Jennifer found that fall of 2005 the moment in time that began her entrance into the music industry. After such time, she was encouraged to purchase her first keyboard and see if she could “make it happen.” But while playing coffeehouses and rural festivals amidst New York’s rolling hills, her heart was stirring with the thought of taking her music where she was known by no one. With that, her trek to Chicago took place, and it was there that the pursuit truly began. It is in this passion of chasing after the unknown that the true artist emerges … and lives.
