DIY Happenings: Creativity and Pictionary

For you who are introduced to me, you will know that I am a musician.  For you who have known me, you will know that I am a songwriter.  For you who know me well, you will know that I am an artist.  Art, in all the forms through which it is presented, I believe to be stimulating, inspiring, emotionally engaging, genuine, deep.  Sung lyrics and melodies may be my fervor, but I can in no way downplay the profound impact of an intimate black and white photograph, or a robust piece of graphic art, or a vulnerable canvas painting that evokes authenticity, or a dance that makes you cherish movement, or a morsel of recorded footage that, when well-crafted, tells you something about yourself.  By no means can I claim to do any of these things well, let alone at all!  Though my goodness does creativity inspire me, and I don’t believe that one needs to be a “professional” to be creative.  One simply needs to have an imagination.  We all have those.  Are we willing to tap into them and move beyond the monotonous, is the question.

I am working on a lyric video for my band, Lucrezio, and my mind is just spilling over with excitement at the idea of pulling off the notions that are swirling in my thoughts.  Hopefully one of these days I will be able to share it with you, but in the meantime, there is a little something else I put together for a friends baby shower and I just couldn’t resist showing you.  Perhaps it will prompt a few creative ideas!

So welcome… the homemade Baby Pictionary board!  Creativity truly can come from anywhere :)
